Justin Wendel
I graduated with a degree in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 2004. I have been youth pastor at Centennial for two years, and I have been leading worship for the youth group for six.
Being lovesick for Christ is the cry of my heart. I want Him to fill my mind with his eternal thoughts, and to inflame my heart with a passion for His kingdom. I want to be found ready and watching for the day of His return. I want others to experience this lovesickness, this intimacy with the Bridegroom so that they can be filled with faith, hope, and love.
Everything flows out of worship. And so it was for me. I was quickly taken through a process of what it meant to worship and to lead worship. The more I learned, the more I wanted. Music became more than just songs, words, and melodies; it became something that would bring me closer to the heart of God. It is such an honor, and I am so humbled to be able to invite the presence of God into our youth services and into the hearts of the youth who so desperately need an encounter with Him. Leading the youth into worship for the past six years has been absolutely amazing. I also have the privilege of leading worship on Saturday nights at a contemporary worship service called Experience at First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Finally, I play in a Christian rock band called Perfectflaw. We are very blessed to be playing at Christian and secular venues all around the state, proclaiming the good news of Christ wherever there are young people willing to listen.
