Celebrate Recovery

IThe Road

to Recovery...

Eight Principles Based on the “Beatitudes”

The Road to Recovery also incorporates the traditional 12 Step program                                       used by Alcoholics Anonymous.

1. Realize I'm not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life in unmanageable.

Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor.

2. Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.

Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

3. Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control.

          Happy are the Meek.

4. Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust.

Happy are the pure in Heart

5. Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects.

Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires.

6. Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I've done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others.

Happy are the merciful. Happy are the peacemakers

7. Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow him.

8. Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and by my words.

Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.

A word from our pastor.....

In today's society, few of us have remained untouched by the devastating effects of a friend or family member that struggles with an addiction.  I have personally dealt with the pain and hopelessness associated with addiction as I witnessed family members, friends, and individuals under my pastoral care wrestle with an enemy that was far stronger than them.  However, in the midst of the brokenness and confusion that accompanies the life of an addict, there is hope!

Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program designed to aid people in the process of overcoming life-altering addictions.  By working through the eight recovery principles found in the Beatitudes along with the traditional 12 Step method of recovery, a person can experience the freedom and peace for which their heart longs.  This program can release a person from reliance on their dysfunctional, compulsive, and addictive behaviors as a temporary “fix” for their pain.  Celebrate Recovery offers people genuine release from life's hurts, hang-ups, and habits by providing proven techniques for addiction recovery, accountability through individual sponsorship, and by entering a community of support.

It is our privilege to offer this venue of freedom to our community and its surrounding areas in an effort to offer hope and restoration to hurting individuals and families who have been overwhelmed with the struggles of addiction.
